[Gossip] Britney Getting Treatment For Bipolar Disease
Posted by Ashish on 01.30.2008

Britney Spears does seem to be getting help for what doctors have diagnosed as bipolar disease. A new psychiatrist apparently comes to Britney's house daily to treat her, and she is also now apparently on medication for bipolar disease.

Britney has seen doctors who have been referred by other doctors, plus doctors who have been referred by celebrities Britney knows, and doctors referred by her lawyers, family and friends. According to TMZ, the process has been excruciating for her, partly because her disease is severe.

Britney apparently is responding well to the medication when she takes it, but often does not take it. A source close to her told TMZ that she is really trying to get better.

I'd love, one day, for someone to sit down with all these people called a source, a friend or an onlooker and find out how so many of them manage to get in newspapers.

If she was "really trying to get better" she'd take her fucking medicine.

It's not a disease.

I'll agree on that. It's a mental disorder, it's not a disease.

Yeah just like a few weeks ago she had multiple personality disorder. Lock the bitch up. I'm sick of this.

Call everythng by its right name; it is called Bipolar Disorder, not Disease. We don't need to stigmatize the mentally ill any more than they already are.

Before people judge someone they should know a little about what they are talking about. If you know anyone with mental illness which Bipolar disease is then you would know a little about what is going on. I have heard that Britney is doing this for the attention. I will tell you, I have been dealing with my daughter since she was 4. Within the last four years she has been diagnosed with Bipolar disease. This is not a fun disease. It is not her fault. Its easy to say take your "@#$%^&*" medicine. We had to take our daughter to court to get her to take her medicine. The local health center has to make sure of this. Mental health is not getting the attention that it needs to get. People should learn more about it. There should be more help out there for people with mental illness. My husband and I had to fight to get the help that our daughter needs to get. Walk in the shoes with a person who has mental illness or volunteer at a mental health center etc. Learn more about it. Then open your mouth.

I am happy she is finally getting proper treatment. I hope she found a good Doctor.

I have recognize a few years ago that Britney as bipolar disorder but due to the stigmea attach to mental illness she like I and many others would not accept it until she lost everything due to not taking the treatments. mMy heart bleeds for her I can not imagine losing my son. My prayers are with her that she accepts her illness, takes her meds. keep her head up and get back those little boys at least joint custady.I pray that the media leave her alone to let her better and that they try to make their money on glamour and not on gossip which could drive someone in her present state to suicide !AMEN

for those of you IDOITS that are being so calloused and judgemental walk a block not a mile in her shoes and see how YOU in all your NON-WISDOM of matters fair .know your facts before you shoot of your mouths and show the world how ^%#@%^$ STUPID you are.there is alot more to this disorder than you could EVER EVER understand, you have to have human compasion to understand ,apparently you have non or just not human.

i have to agree with survior. my granddaughter who has been out of control since she was 3,drs told her mom for years she'll out grow it. it took me sending her to a hospital 2years ago(age10) to get her the help she needs. meds have been change 3 times as she grows and now with her mom leaving all 5 kids in my care it's been no picnic. we have a great team working with her and the family, but it's still hard. so unless you've been there don't judge poeple. it's really hard not knowing what's making you do things you never would do. prays for you brit good luck with you fight to get better.

FINALLY!! A dignosis has been made for Britney! In her present state of mind, she probably doesn't know s**t what's happening to her; to know that it's something treatable should "make the medicine go down." With her current hospitalization, it would take more than 72 f** hours to evaluate her properly. Being bipolar myself, I recognized her symptoms last year; but apparently her handlers (managers, publicists, family, etc.) don't want her labeled "mentally ill" because she'd lose her fan base, and they would lose their "meal ticket." I hope she stays in the hospital long enough to drop her "mask" and let the professionals see the "real" Britney. She has been living in a fantasy world, where no one tells her "No," because she's an adult. She's been getting away with "murder" because of her celebrity status; who can stand up to her illness?? I pray that she gets the psychiatric help she so desperately needs at this point in her life. She has truly "hit bottom," and the only way out is up. I wish her the best; especially with the right medications, she CAN lead a fairly "normal" life, and be a Mom to her two precious children. Someone (the court?) should verify that she takes her medications; the taking of them religiously is the only way to stability.

I hope Brittany realizes once she realizes she has a problem, there is a solution. I have Bipolar Disorder and it is very serious. You must take medication for the rest of your life or you have no life. I will pray for her.
She needs support from people she loves and therapy. It will work.
